Not seen this one before - I get a loaded ATM card

This is a new one - instead of giving me access directly to cash, they want to send me an ATM card which I can then use to withdraw money. I have had two of these in the last few days. It would take around three and a half years to draw out all the cash, assuming you went to the ATM every day. I am guessing they believe people will give more credence to someone styling themselves "Rev". Usual tortured English, e.g. "MASTERED CARD"

Note usual generic email addresses (live.com, the rediff redistributor, even with a rediff add tacked on the end) and completely fake to address (there is no .og domain). Strange how the subject has been encoded, it displays as "COMPENSATION FOR YOUR PAST EFFORTS". Here are the relevant headers:

No wonder the BBC has no money...

... if it wants to send me £18 M. Aren't I lucky? Can't think why they want to pay me this amount, but, hey, who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth?

Good to see the BBC doing so much to put work the way of other countries. It came from Venezuela:
From: BBC FINANCE DEPARTMENT <dsanchez@inhrr.gob.ve>

And the reply will go to China:

Reply-To: BBC FINANCE DEPARTMENT <bbcfinancialdepartment@yahoo.cn>

But they don't seem to be sure who should receive it:
To: undisclosed-recipients:;

And isn't it good of them to warn me about all those scammers out there in the last paragraph? I would never have thought such people exist without that kind note!

More money coming my way - and all I have to do is accept a new daughter

This sort of scam seemed to have gone out of fashion, but has had a revival recently. Slightly unusual in that most of this sort from women seem to propose marriage, this one want to be my daughter. Well, I already have one of those, thank you. And a wife I am very happy with.

What a rotter I must be, as Ms. Laboso asked me to keep this confidential and here I am putting it on the internet for all to see. Other points, this one went to an email address that I don't use these days, so obviously harvested from an out-of-date system. There is the usual difference between From and Reply-To:

Hello My Dearest,

My name is Nancy Lorna Laboso, 23 years old originated from Nairobi-Kenya, East Africa, Female, tall, slim, fair and a very good looking girl that loves travelling and dancing, a student, that loves to be loved, I want you to also understand that your Age, distance, Religions does not matter to me, kindly permit me to be contacting you through this medium, I am compelled to contact you via this medium for obvious reasons which you will understand when we discuss details of my proposition.

My father the former Assistant Minister of Home Affairs and the Kenya road Minister Mr. Kipkalya Kones had been on board the Cessna 210, which was headed to Kericho and crashed in a remote area called Kalong’s, in western Kenya . The plane crashed on the Tuesday 10th,June, 2008.

You can read more about the crash through the below site :http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/africa/06/10/kenya.crash/index.html

After the burial of my father, my step-mother threatened to kill me because of my father’s properties without having knowledge of the money my father deposited in one of the banks in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso with my name as the next of kin before his dead which amount is ($4.2USD) Million United State Dollars. I travelled down to Burkina Faso to withdraw the money so that I can start a better life and take care of my self.

On my arrival, the Branch manager of the Bank whom I met in person told me that my father left an instruction with the bank that the money will be release to me only when I am married or I should present a trustee who will help me and invest the money overseas. I have chosen to contact you after my prayers and I believe that you will not betray the trust I have on you. But rather take me as your own daughter or your Sister. Though you may wonder why I am so soon revealing myself to you without knowing you, well, I will say that my mind is convinced that you are the true person to help me stand as my trustee since I am not yet married.

More so, I will like to disclose much to you if you can help me to relocate in your country because my Step-Mother has threatened to assassinate me. Also be informed that I have confirmed from the bank in Burkina Faso that the money is still waiting to be claimed. You will also help me to a place were the money will be establish in a more profitable business venture in your Country. Moreover, you will also help me by recommending a nice University in your country so that I will complete my studies.

It is my intention to compensate you with 30% of the total money for your services and the balance shall be my capital in your establishment. As soon as I receive your interest in helping me, I will put things into action immediately. In the light of the above, I shall appreciate an urgent message indicating your ability and willingness to handle this transaction sincerely. Please do keep this only to your self. I beg you not to disclose it to anybody until the money transferred into your bank account and then I will come over to your country.

I am waiting to hear from you soonest,
Yours Sincerely,
Miss. Nancy Lorna Laboso.

Apparently, I have an inheritance of £5 million

This is one of the more unsophisticated spam posts. rediffmail is a (legitimate, I believe) mail host that seems to be based in India. No attempt has been made to obscure this, it is even the same address the post was sent from, which is unusual. However, there is the usual tortured English and no company name. Albert Square is real, but this address and post code is only for Manchester City Council's offices. Maybe Philip Sissons actually works there?

Attn: Please,

We wish to notify you again that you were listed as a Heir to the total sum of Five million British pounds in the codicil and last testament of our deceased client.

A regular mail was dispatched to you but yet no reply from you.

We are contacting you again because the instruction stipulates that this fund should be paid directly to you upon his demise.

We request you to kindly acknowledge officially, enabling us file all necessary legal documents to the paying bank for the urgent release of your inheritance.

Please send an acknowledgment email to enable us process your inheritance.

Yours Truly,
Philip Sissons,

Why?

Just for posting the spam posts sent to me. Like most of us, I still get some of these, despite spam filters. Thought it would be interesting to post those I get.
